Dog stolen from Moncton SPCA over the weekend

Another dog has been stolen in Metro.
A three-year-old Pug mix is missing from the Moncton SPCA. Employees say the last time Archie was seen with the other dogs was 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. When they went to bring the pups back in, Archie was nowhere to be found.
"They checked to see if maybe one of the volunteers had brought him on a walk," says director of operations, Nanette Pearl. "But they hadn't and they exhausted every other possibility, and still no Archie."
The dog had only been given up for adoption by his previous owners on Friday. Pearl says she has no idea who would want to steal a dog from them and she's concerned for the helpless animal's health.
"He's on antibiotics three times a day," she says. "There are things about the dog that people wouldn't know. I don't understand the mentality of a person who would steal a dog up for adoption."
The shelter staff released a description and a statement to Codiac Regional RCMP yesterday morning. Cpl. Michael Gaudet says there are no leads yet, but police are working to get Archie returned safely.
The dog is striped beige and brown making him "brindle" in colour. Pearl says that he is not a purebred pug, but to look at him it is very obvious that he is a mix of a pug and something less prominent, perhaps a Boston Terrier.
Meanwhile, Pearl asks that anybody with any information about Archie contact either the shelter or the RCMP. She says she can't imagine a motive to do something like this, but Archie's safety is her primary concern.
"People would have their own motive to do something like this," says Pearl, "but adopting a dog from us is not that hard. We just really want Archie back."
