Show will have kids and parents 'dancing in the aisles'

A cast of some of television's most popular youth stars are touring the Maritimes in a show that promises it will have "preschoolers and their parents dancing in the aisles."
Christmas Playdate with Max & Ruby, Miss Spider and the Bannanas in Pyjamas will be descending upon Moncton's Capitol Theatre on Nov. 29.
The show will be hosted by The Fairly OddParents.
Presented by SRO Entertainment, Christmas Playdate is a multi-media musical storytime event that invites kids and parents to come laugh along with some of television's best known characters.
"It's recommended for preschoolers and kindergarten students and even younger than that," said event promoter Jacqueline Livingstone. "Some parents even take their one or two-year-olds. It just depends on how young the kids start watching TV."
The show will centre upon Max & Ruby's antics when Max decides to stay up to see Santa -- against Ruby's sisterly advice.
Audiences can also dance and sing along with Miss Spider and her Buggy Bunch, and sing fun holiday songs with the Bananas in Pyjamas. This engaging presentation is hosted by zany fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda from The Fairly OddParents -- with a special guest visit from Santa.
Max and his older, smarter sister Ruby have charmed preschoolers and their parents for almost a decade. Their humour, determination and affection for each other ultimately help them triumph over the challenges of being little.
Created by internationally-acclaimed children's author and illustrator Rosemary Wells, the duo has appeared in more than 25 picture books and provided the creative base for the popular TV series, Max & Ruby, which airs across Canada on Treehouse TV and in French Canada on SRC.
Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends is all about family, fun, adventure, acceptance and friendship. The adorable multi-media "edu-taining" show segment features local kids on stage with the musical host in interactive songs from the TV show and dances, ending with an energetic Buggy Conga line.
The Bananas in Pyjamas are from the hit Australian children's TV program. They are the adorable, mischievous twin bananas, B1 and B2, in striped pyjamas. They always have delightful adventures and they are now joining Max & Ruby and their friends on stage. The live show is an upbeat, interactive musical world filled with situational comedy. The Bananas sing and dance, laugh, and solve problems that kids encounter in their world.
From the highly-rated edgy YTV show The Fairly OddParents come Cosmo and Wanda, fairy Godparents who wreak magical mayhem by granting extraordinary wishes.
Combined, these TV friends create a one-hour (no intermission) magical experience for pre-schoolers and the young-at-heart.
Other Maritime dates include Nov. 27 in Truro, Nov. 28 in Halifax and Nov. 30 in Charlottetown, with more dates expected to be announced.
The event begins at 1 p.m. on Nov. 29 at the Capitol Theatre. Tickets are $27.50 plus applicable service charges. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. and are available at Capitol Theatre, Franks Music, University of Moncton or charge by phone at 856-4379, toll-free at 1-800-567-1922 or online at www.capitol.nb.ca
