The communities of Rexton, Richibucto and Saint-Louis-de-Kent are holding the second Banner Festival of New Brunswick created by local artists of all age. The banners will be exposed on telephone poles in the three communities until Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Irish Room, located in historic Thomas Williams House is open every Friday from 9 a.m.-noon and from 1-3 p.m. and houses genealogical and local history materials related to the Irish in southeastern NB. Heron Bay Gallery in downtown Shediac features a wide range of work from the traditional to the contemporary. The gallery represents both professional and emerging artists displaying various media: painting, sculpture, printmaking and photography. The Beaverbrook Art Gallery is presenting various exhibits. Until January 4, 2010, permanent collection in the East Wing entitled The Beaverbrook Art Gallery Krieghoff Collection. Until Monday, Sept. 7, Leopold L. Foulem: Recuperation is on exhibition. A public tour and talk of the exhibit will take place Thursday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. Refreshments to follow. Every Saturday from 2-3 p.m. there will be an Art Lover's Tour. Artworks, a daily summer workshop for children ages 5-12 will be offered from July 6-Aug. 28, from 10 a.m.-noon (for ages 5-8); from 2-4 p.m. (ages 9-12). Price is $15 each or $50 for four sessions. Artistica, a weekly summer camp for children ages 5-12 will be offered July 6-Sept. 4. Classes for the 5 day camp is $140 for non-members and $125 for members.
