EVENTS
Struts Gallery and Faucet Media Arts Centre is holding a series of Creative Lab workshops throughout the Ok.Quoi?! Contemporary Arts Festival. On Monday, July 28, Andrew R. Miller will host a Creative Lab on how to compose a Honk Symphony. Participants will create scores for a volunteer orchestra of car horns and other noisemakers to be performed Friday, Aug. 1.
On Tuesday, July 29, Open Studio Artist-in-Residence, Ken Gregory will be teaching participants how to build a simple kite out of everyday materials. Open to adults and children. On Wednesday, July 30, Elanor King will be facilitating a Creative Lab for all skill levels to create their own contact microphone out of singing greeting card, an RCA cable and a bit of solder. On Thursday, July 31, Gregory will be focusing on computers and sound recording and manipulation technology. On Friday, Aug. 1, Gregory will hold the workshop entitled Against the Wind with a demonstration of his kites and wind instruments.
