100-year anniversary

Bynon Memorial United Baptist Church, Canaan Station, is having a weekend celebration for their 100th Anniversary from Sept 5-7. On Saturday at 2 p.m,, there will be a meet and greet, children's games, music, and more. Bring your musical instruments and a lawn chair. There will be a barbecue at 4 p.m., followed by Maritime Gospel Express at 6:30 p.m. Sunday service with guest speaker, John Wiler will be held at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome, for information, call Brian at 388-1663.

High energy performance

On Saturday, Sept. 6, Riverview Baptist Church is presenting a Celtic dance and gospel production titled Fiery Faith & Fiddles. Organizers describe the show to be "laced with comedy and inspiration." There will be a free barbecue before the show from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m. For more information, phone 387-3017.

Men's activities

Moncton Wesleyan Church is offering many activities for men. Some of thses include Thursday night fellowship and bible study, men's breakfasts the last Saturday of each month at Don Cherry's, a men's book club, movie night for guys and outreach activities. Fall activities

As part of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church's Sunday School and Bible Study Fall Rally Day Weekend, children ages three to 12 are invited to "Noah's 2-by-2 Adventure" on Sept. 6 from 1-3:30 p.m. It will be a fun afternoon of Christ-centred activities revolving around the story of Noah, his family, and all those animals -- and some surprise appearances! On Sept. 7 at 10 a.m., the church will kick off its Fall season of Sunday school and Bible class. Remembrance service

The Middlesex Community Cemetery will be holding a remembrance service at the Middlesex Pentecostal Church, Sunday Sept. 7, at 2:30 p.m. All are Welcome.

Forgiveness and healing

An evening of forgiveness and healing prayer will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, at St. Augustine's Church basement (elevator accessible) beginning at 7:30 p.m. Prayer teams will be available for individual prayers. Memorial service

The third annual Shawbrook Memorial service will be held Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. at the Shawbrook Cemetery. Everyone is welcome, refreshments to follow. Bring your own chair. In case of rain, the service will be held Sept. 21 at 3 p.m.

Anniversary service

The McKee's Mills Pastoral charge will be celebrating their anniversary service on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. Rev. Janice MacLean will be the guest speaker. The Heritage Quilt, which was commissioned by the Maritime Conference and seeks to capture in fabric and symbol the faith story that unfolds inside our church buildings, will be on display during the service. A time of fellowship will follow at the Community Hall. Lunch will be provided, please bring a favourite dessert to share.

Latin Mass

A traditional Latin Mass will be held on the third Sunday of each month beginning Sunday, Sept 21, at 4 p.m. at Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Church (1542 Champlain St. Dieppe, Lakeburn.) All are welcome.

Men of the Deeps

Saint John's United Church in Moncton is presenting the Men of the Deeps in concerton Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and are available from church members or at the church office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. For more information, please phone 858-8289.

Bridge marathon

The Wesley Memorial Church will be holding a bridge marathon every second Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. starting Sept. 25 for 14 weeks. Cost is $50 per person and includes tea, coffee and cookies.

Games will be played at the church hall at the corner of Cameron and Dufferin St. For more information or to register call 382-4180.

Pancake breakfast

There will be a pancake breakfast at Wesley Memorial United Church Hall (168 Cameron St.) on Sept. 20, from 8 to 11 a.m. Cost for the meal is a free will offering.

Jazz concert

Central United Church (150 Queen St., Moncton) is presenting Jazz in Sacred Spaces, an evening of Classic Jazz with Peter Woods on saxophone and Brian Browne on piano on Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The duo will be featuring music from their most recent release. Chorale practice

The Greater Moncton Chorale will be holding its practices at Central United Church, 150 Queen St., every Monday at 7 p.m. Membership fee is $50 per term. The chorale is well known for a wide variety of repertoire, including major choral works, jazz arrangements, sacred anthems and show tunes. Everyone welcome.
