Home show brings products and services under one roof

Annual home show at Moncton Coliseum March 15-17 has seminars on saving money, preparing your house for sale

Whether you are shopping for a new home, renovating your existing home or getting ready to sell, the annual Greater Moncton Home Show has information you can use, organizers say.

“Our home show is now in its 33rd year and there is something for everyone,” said Shelly Johnson, spokesperson for the Greater Moncton Homebuilders Association, which organizes the show each year. “The show offers a one stop shop to see what is new in the marketplace for the residential construction industry.  Whether you are renovating or thinking of building, the experts are under one roof for the weekend.”

Johnson said the show has many booths by businesses and professionals showing the latest products and services related to home building, refurbishing and renovation industry. It is an opportunity for consumers to find information on products and services. Many of the local dealers create massive displays this year there will be prefabricated homes from Kent Homes, Maple Homes and Supreme Homes.

The show will be at the Moncton Coliseum Friday, March 15, from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults $9 for students and seniors and free for children under 12. A weekend pass is $17, which allows visitors to return at any time to take in the various seminars, which will be staged in the Coliseum Agrena and free with admission.

Home Show seminars:

• Friday, 2:30-3:30 p.m.: Cecile Cassista, executive director of the Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents Rights. Housing programs available for seniors in New Brunswick.

• Friday, 3:30-4:30 p.m.: Kim Eagles, Kaos Solutions, Downsizing and Senior Move Organizing.

• Saturday, 11 a.m.: Jeff LeBlanc, Radon 101. Answers to Radon questions.

• Saturday, 1 p.m.: NB Power. Helping New Brunswickers save money on their home electricity.

• Saturday, 2 p.m.: Annie Haddad, Vertex Solar Solutions – Solar Power – Is it right for you?

• Saturday, 3 p.m.: Richard LeBlanc, Riko Passive Homes, – Navigating the Challenges of Building Off-Grid Energy-Efficient Homes.

Sunday, 1 p.m.: NB Housing – Affordable Housing Programs

• Sunday, 2 p.m.: Devon Babineau, One Stop Home Pros – How to sell your home for more.

The Greater Moncton Home Builders’ Association was established in 1973 and incorporated in 1977 as a non-profit, industry association comprised of builders, renovators, land developers, manufacturers, suppliers, utility representatives, mortgage lenders, realtors, architects, government representatives, professional people and others engaged in the residential construction industry. It represents more than 80 businesses in the residential construction industry in Moncton and surrounding area, with a goal of improving the industry and improving affordability, quality and choice for consumers.
