In a sign of how Kelsey McNeil of Salisbury has become the pride of the entire region, Moncton city council officially recognized the BMO Canadian junior women's figure skating champion at its meeting last night.
Mayor Lorne Mitton presents Kelsey McNeil with a certificate of recognition last night at Moncton City Hall.
Moncton mayor Lorne Mitton presented a certificate of recognition to McNeil, who said she was very proud to represent the area.
Ward 3 councillor Brian Hicks, who was behind McNeil receiving the recognition, congratulated her on staying here in southeastern New Brunswick to train. He noted too many elite athletes gravitate toward larger centres, but McNeil had shown it could be done at home.

I do question why there is no mention in this Irving owned newspaper of councils lengthy presentation and discussion about Uranium mining in NB...Thank goodness we have clear thinkers in our city council who know that this is a bad idea for our city and our province. Shame on this paper for not informing your readers about the REAL issues that affect the people of NB
