MIRAMICHI - New Brunswick's best known Irish festival will wrap up for another year before the weekend is over. And even though the 25th annual Canada's Irish Festival on the Miramichi has been going strong all week, it won't be slowing down just yet.

Already there's been fiddling and dance workshops, corned beef and cabbage lunches and an appearance by Canada's Ambassador to Ireland Patt Binns, not to mention lots of musical entertainment.

The fun continues this morning with a breakfast at St. Michael's Basilica from 7 to 11 a.m. A giant family yard sale will begin later this morning at 8 a.m., followed by a family walking parade beginning at James M. Hill High School at 10 a.m. Corned beef and cabbage will be served at the Chatham Royal Canadian Legion from noon until 6 p.m. on Church Street.

Also on Saturday, several events will be happening on the NBCC Miramichi campus to celebrate the festival, including pony rides and a petting zoo, plus dance and music workshops.

Entertainment inside the Lord Beaverbrook Arena Saturday will include the Nelson Doyle Dancers, Sons of the River, Miramichi Ceili, Bob McCallum and Rebecca Howe, starting at 11:30 a.m.

Performers at the Saturday Night Pub, beginning at 9 p.m., include The Town Pants and The Irish Descendants.

On Sunday, the Running of the Green 5 km Run begins at 11 a.m., starting and ending at the Lord Beaverbrook Arena. Family Fun Day begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday with an historical scavenger hunt, children's games, 15 rounds of free Bingo and a treasure hunt.

Performers at the Sunday Night Pub include Connie and Paul taking the stage at 9 p.m. followed by Sons of the River at 11 p.m.
