FREDERICTON - A Fredericton man pleaded guilty in provincial court yesterday to charges stemming from an armed robbery earlier this week.
Robert Thomas Fallon, 24, admitted to robbing the Pharmasave on Canada Street in Marysville at gunpoint.
He pleaded guilty to charges of robbery with a firearm and masking his face during an offence.
Judge Graydon Nicholas remanded Fallon until an Aug. 29 sentencing date to allow for the preparation of a victim-impact statement and a pre-sentence report.
Police reported a suspect -- now known to be Fallon -- entered the pharmacy around 7 p.m. Monday armed with a sawed-off shotgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs, including OxyContin, Dilaudid and hydromorphone.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
Fredericton Police Force spokesman Sgt. Scott MacKenzie said police are still searching for the second person involved in the incident, believed to be the driver of a gold Saturn car.
