Shippagan native Noémi Auffrey-Jones has already won numerous awards

Noémi Auffrey-Jones has surpassed her idol Celine Dion.
"They (people in the industry) compare Noémi to her (Celine Dion)," says Noémi's father and manager Eric Jones. "She's got the same power at the same level that Celine did when she was the same age -- even a little bit younger.
When Noémi sings the first song that Celine sang (as a recording artist), Noémi reached the same note that Celine reached at maybe 13 years old, only Noémi did it at nine years old."
Originally from Shippagan and now living in Riverview, Noémi Auffrey-Jones has released her first album (Les Couleurs de Ma Voix -- The colors of My Voice) at the age of 11!
What's more she's even getting radio play in Montreal, has been featured in a Radio Canada interview, and is also on YouTube! With oodles of talent, this le Mascaret Grade 6 student is planning to make music her vocation.
"When I'm finished school I would like to have a singing career," she says, "and I would especially love to sing with Celine Dion. Singing is fun, I was just born singing."
In fact she did get under way at about the age of three, and has been improving ever since. She began singing lessons at the age of six, and most recently studies voice with Eddy Downing of Shippagan when he comes to the area. Noémi truly enjoys those sessions.
"I do!" says this bubbly songstress, "especially when you get better and better. Then I can do high notes and I love doing that."
She hits all the right notes when she's singing what she likes best, ballads.
"I do all kinds of music, but I especially love to do ballads. I have a country ballad, Jesus Take the Wheel, but different kinds of ballads and that's what I pretty much do on my album. And I love pop songs too -- all the new songs like Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus."
A born entertainer with a promising natural talent, Noémi is inspired by many current artists, such as her all-time favourite Celine Dion, as well as Marie-Chantal Toupin, Annie Villeneuve, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
Noémi Auffrey-Jones is definitely at home at centre stage, and has performed in either competitions or as a special guest on several occasions. These include: Mini Star Académie, Néguac, NB (2002); Star Acadie, Cap-Pelé, NB (2005); Maritime Idol, Moncton , NB (2007); Chanson en fête, St-Ambroise, QC (2008), and Festival Country Western, St-Isidore, NB
(2008) -- and many more. She'll be performing as well on the upcoming Christmas Daddies telethon.
Away from music, she enjoys her friends, playing volleyball, and family time with her parents Eric and Lisa, and two year-old brother Jayden.
Hard-working and committed, Noémi Auffrey-Jones is not only an exciting young singer, but also personality plus -- a pop princess with a heart of gold.
"When her mom wrote that about her I said oh! That's really her," says her dad Eric. "She's a really good girl."
