SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - A nasty stomach bug that causes diarrhea and vomiting is making the rounds in parts of P.E.I.
Dr. Lamont Sweet, the province's deputy chief health officer, says a seniors residence in Summerside appears to have been hardest hit by the ailment.
About half of the 56 residents at the Andrews Residence for Seniors' Living are displaying symptoms consistent with Norwalk virus. Thirteen of 50 staff are also affected.
Sweet says his department has received three confirmed tests for Norwalk virus, two in the Charlottetown area and one in Summerside.
