A Northern New Brunswick man is dead after an ATV crash near California Lake.
Acting RCMP Sgt. Manon Parent says two people were travelling on separate four-wheelers on a dirt road near the Red Pine Shelter in the vicinity of California Lake, south of Bathurst Thursday evening.
"He lost control of his ATV, ran into a tree and died at the scene," says Parent. "We don't know what caused it yet; it's still under investigation and a reconstructionist attended the scene."
Parent said the first ATVer lost control and hit the tree around 7:30 p.m. and the person with him called for help. Paramedics responded but were unable to save the man.
The man killed in the crash was Jacques Godin, 49, of Tremblay.
