Less than 2,000 tickets remain in Hand in Hand Dream Home Lottery

If you plan to buy a ticket for the Hand in Hand Dream Lottery, do it quickly.
Organizers say there are fewer than 2,000 tickets remaining and the contest closes tomorrow at 11 p.m.
The grand prize of the draw is a $700,000 dream home located at 16 Maurice St. in Dieppe.
The four-bedroom, three bathroom, two-car garage home backs onto the first hole of the Fox Creek Golf Club, comes fully furnished and boasts over 4,000 square-feet of living space.
The contest, with 1,048 prizes available, is a charitable effort spearheaded by the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation and the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation.
The groups hope to raise about $300,000 each to fund vital projects at the hospitals.
"It's the first time on this scale a home lottery has been done in the area, as far as we know," said Bob Whalen, vice-chairman of The Moncton Hospital Foundation. "It's the first time both foundations have gone together on a project to support heath care for Greater Moncton and southern New Brunswick."
The winners of the early bird draws for $25,000 and $50,000 were announced earlier this week.
They were Thomas Doucette of Moncton and Denise Gallant of Bouctouche.
The 19,320 tickets purchased before July 14 were eligible for the early bird prizes.
The second grand prize is a nine-night vacation in Germany, $15,000 cash and a 2009 BMW 528xi Sedan.
Eleven worldwide vacations are also up for grabs, as well as four brand new vehicles: a 2009 Ford Flex Crossover SEL FWD, a 2009 Malibu Hybrid, a 2009 Harley Davidson VRSC Night Rod Special and a 2009 Toyota Yaris.
There are over 300 high-end electronics prizes, like a big screen television, and more than 600 pieces of sports and recreation equipment to be won.
Tickets are on sale for $100 each or three for $250.
Whalen said the organizing committee is putting a rush on this weekend to sell all of the tickets, as booths will be set up at the Dieppe Market today from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., and in both hospital lobbies.
The deadline to purchase tickets is tomorrow night at 11 p.m.
If you're ordering tickets by phone at 1-888-624-7785, your order must be placed before that time.
Tickets can also be ordered online at www.handinhandlottery.com.
Organizers have extended the hours tickets will be sold at the Dream Home, which are sale today and tomorrow from Noon until 8 p.m.
A total of 27,500 tickets were available at the beginning of the contest.
The final draw is July 20.
Whalen said the organizing committee will take a step back after the contest has concluded to assess whether or not the two hospital foundations will take on a project like this again.
"It has been fun, a great project," said Whalen. "On July 20, we're going to make 1,048 people very happy."
