But he is not expected to encounter any snow

It may feel like Christmas, but it is not going to look like it, when St. Nicholas arrives Saturday night in the city for the annual Greater Moncton Santa Claus Parade.
The cold part of winter should be in order with temperatures coming in around the 3C (37F) mark by parade time, said Claude Côté of Fredericton, a meteorologist for Environment Canada.
And the chilly temperatures are expected to be accompanied by stiff west winds, making it seem a lot colder, still, said Côté. So, parents are urged to make sure their children are dressed warmly to view the parade, said the Environment Canada spokesman.
However, the chances of snowflurries, let alone snowfall, taking place Saturday night are slim to none, said the meteorologist. He said there is a 60 per cent chance of showers for Metro Moncton on Saturday, but even then, they would be occurring during the day.
There is only a small chance of rainshowers in the evening during the parade and an even more unlikely possibility of snowflurries, he said.
The snow is definitely coming to Metro and most likely in time for Christmas, said Côté. But it is not going to make it in time for the Santa Claus parade, he added.
The Weather Network is also calling for "isolated showers" for Saturday and for temperatures to be around the 3 to 4C (37 to 39F) mark at parade time. They foresee no snow, however, occurring this week or weekend.
Weatherbug.com is predicting only a 30 per cent chance of rainshowers for Saturday but they would be happening during the morning. They predict temperatures to drop down near the freezing mark by parade time, fanned by cold west winds.
They forecast mostly cloudy conditions for Metro Moncton for Sunday, with the high only making it up to 1C (34F).
Meanwhile, Côté noted the unseasonably warm temperatures the province has been enjoying the past few weeks would continue today, with cloudy conditions and a high of 10C (50F) being forecast. Tomorrow, the thermometer is expected to jump to 12C (54F), along with periods of rain, said the Environment Canada spokesman. But the highs will drop back to normal the next couple of days, he said, expected to be 7 and 4C (45 and 39F), respectively, on Saturday and Sunday.
The Weather Network also forecasts mild conditions to continue today and tomorrow in Metro Moncton, The predict the temperatures will reach a high of 11C (52F) on both days, along with intermittent rainfall on Friday.
However, Saturday's high will fall back to 6C (43F) with temperatures on Sunday only making it up to 3C (37F).
Weatherbug.com is predicting mostly cloudy conditions today for southeastern New Brunswick to be followed tomorrow by periods of rain. However, they forecast tomorrow's temperatures to climb to an unseasonable high of 13C (55F).
