Support for Single Parents Inc. has moved its office and programs to a new location in Moncton.

The non-profit support group previously located in the United Church manse on Queen Street now occupies the second floor of the two-storey building at 178 Albert Street, home of the Turning Point Youth Centre.

The move was necessitated as the United Church needed the space at the Queen Street building. At the same time, the Turning Point organization was looking for tenants to help with the rent, said Nancy Hartling, executive director of Support for Single Parents.

The new location allows them to have all their operations on a single floor, said Hartling, adding that there is ample parking and bus service to Riverview passing close by.

Support for Single Parents' fall programs begin Sept. 23 and will include help providing effective parenting, helping people handle emotion more effectively in their daily life, helping participants boost their self-esteem and helping women survive sexual abuse or abusive relationships.
