  • Claudette T. Leger (Killen) 1934 - 2004 Claudette T. Leger (Killen), of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital in Moncton on Tuesday, November 9, 2004. Born December 18, 1934 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Irene (LeCouffe) Leger. She was a Civil Servant for Customs at C.F.B. Moncton. Claudette enjoyed knitting sweaters for relatives and friends, dancing and Sunday drives. She was a member of the Air Force Veterans, the 31 Club and Bo-Diddley's Social Club. She was a friend to many people. She is survived by husband, Robert Killen; daughter, Lydia Staffen (Paul); grandson, Shilo; brothers, Ron Leger (Shirley), Roger Leger (Mary), Paul Leger (Barbara); a sister, Francine Dipaolo (Tony); many nieces and nephews; her very best friend, Lil Wilson and her pet Mandy. Besides her parents; she was predeceased by a brother, Raymond; a sister, Jeanne and a nephew, Jean-Paul Leger. At her request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place, and a private memorial service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Memorial Chapel, 171 Lutz Street, Moncton at a later date. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, St. Joseph, NB in the family lot. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.   • Florence Edith Patricia Shannon SAINT JOHN, NB - The death of Florence Edith Patricia (Bannister) Shannon, formerly of The Admiral Beatty Seniors Complex, Saint John, NB, wife of the late Francis "Frank" M. Shannon, occurred on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at The Moncton City Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Margaret Jane (Scott) Bannister and had worked as Hostess at the Royal Hotel for more than 30 years. Florence was an active member of Trinity Anglican Church where she was a member of the A.C.W., she also was a member of The Admiral Beatty Seniors Club and enjoyed being a member of TOPS. Survived by her daughter, Patricia (Malcolm) MacKenney of Moncton, NB; two sisters, Audrey McInnis and Margaret Halvorsen, both of Saint John; two grandchildren, Malcolm MacKenney and Susan (Rob) Cormier, both of Riverview, NB; three great-grandchildren, Kate, Trent and Garret Cormier; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Roy and George Bannister and one sister, Bernice Bannister. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday, November 11, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.   • Gordon E. Arsenault 1916 - 2004 Gordon E. Arsenault, age 88, of Dominion Street, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2004, at The Moncton City Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, September 20, 1916, he was the son of the late Christopher Arsenault and Maude (Bishop) Arsenault. Gordon was a retired electrician and electrical contractor, he was also the owner of Central Electrical Services. Gordon enjoyed swimming, and fishing. He also played softball with the city league for Athen's Grill and Bend View Aces, winning both City titles, as a pitcher and outfielder. Gordon attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Obeline (Cormier) Arsenault; five daughters, Joanne, Florence MacFarlane (Pointe du Chene), Roberta, Gloria Goulding and Claire; four sons, Paul (Louise), Gordie (Palma), Earl, Victor (Gisele); 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Gordon was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents; he was also predeceased by two sisters, Freda Bourgeois, Estella Hart and one brother, Albert. There will be no visitation at the funeral home as requested by the family. Funeral service will be held at St - Augustine's Roman Catholic Church (corner of Dominion and Mountain Road) on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 2 pm, followed by a reception at the church hall.   • Jeanne Ferrari-Gallant 1909 - 2004 ST. IGNACE, NB - Jeanne FerrariGallant, 95, passed away at La Villa Maria, St. Louis de Kent, on Tuesday, November 9, 2004. Born in St. Charles, NB she was the daughter of the late John Daigle and Brigitte (Daigle). She attended St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church, St. Ignace and was a member of the St. Ignace Golden Age Club. She is survived by five daughters, Rita Arsenault (Yvon), Waltham, Mass, Stella Surette (Roger), Moncton, Angéle Doiron (Gilbert), St. Louis de Kent, Raymonde O'Keefe (Ron), Winnipeg, Lucille Hébert, St. Louis de Kent; four sons, Pitre, St. Ignace, Pascal, Leominster, Mass., Bernard (Diana), St. Louis de Kent, Onil (Huguette), St. Ignace; two sisters, Suzanne Daigle, Aldouane, Brigitte Leger (late Gerard), Sault-SteMarie. She was predeceased by firsthusband, Andrew Ferrari; second husband, Antoine Gallant; one daughter, Edith Maillet; three sons, John, Roméo, and Ronald; one sister, Aline Daigle; seven brothers, Alex, Baptiste, Josephat, Isaiee, Alyre, Arthur and Pascal; 26 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday 2:00 pm until time of funeral.   • Théophile (Phil) Boucher SAINT-ANTOINE DE KENT, NB - Théophile (Phil) Boucher, 88, husband of Thérèse (Babineau) Boucher, of Saint-Antoine de Kent and formerly of Saint-Paul de Kent, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint-Paul de Kent, NB on December 25, 1915, he was the son of the late Alphée Boucher and the late Rosanne Belliveau. He was a farmer and he attended Saint-Paul de Kent Roman Catholic Church. Théophile is survived by his wife, Thérèse Boucher of Saint-Antoine; three daughters, Aline Léger (Antoine) of Saint-Joseph de Kent, Lucille Gaudet (Fernand) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Yvonne Breau (Donald) of SaintAntoine de Kent; four sons, Donald (Yolande) of Saint-Paul, Louis (Murielle) Saint-Antoine de Kent, Aurèle (Diane) of Saint-Antoine, Jean-Maurice (Monique) of Saint-Norbert de Kent; one sister, Jeanne LeBlanc (Edouard) of Bouctouche; four brothers, Willie (Anna) of Moncton, Léonard (Geralda) of Bouctouche, Yvon and Normand both of Saint-Paul de Kent; 19 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by one daughter, Rita (2002); two brothers, Eric and Lionel; one grandson, Bobby (1987). Resting at Saint-Paul de Kent Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room with visitation on Wednesday, November 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 3:45 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Saint-Paul de Kent Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 4:00 pm. Interment will take place in the Parish Cemetery.   • Charles Edward (Ted) Campbell MAITLAND, NS - The peaceful passing of Charles Edward (Teddy) Campbell of 5999 Hwy., 215 Maitland, Noel Shore, NS, B0N 1T0 occurred at the home of his son in Amherst, NS on November 7, 2004. Born in Halifax in 1947, he is the son of Ruby Ellen Campbell (Vincent) and the late John W. Campbell Sr. Ted is survived by his loving wife, Shirley May (Joshua); sons, Charles, Wayne and Richard; daughter, Dawn; brothers, Jack, Vince, and sister, Cheryl as well as several grandchildren. A celebration of Ted's life will be held at the Kinsman Community Centre, First Lake Drive, Lower Sackville, NS from 11 am to 2 pm on Sunday, November 14, 2004. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Food Bank of your choice.

  • John M. Breen MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. John M. Breen, 57, of Miramichi, passed away at The Moncton City Hospital on November 7, 2004 after a brief illness. As a young man John served for two years in the Royal Canadian Navy. He later worked in Sudbury, Ontario. In 1972 John moved to Kitimat, BC, where he began a long and rewarding career with ALCAN. He retired in 2002 and returned home to Miramichi. He enjoyed retirement and had many wonderful times with family and friends at his camp on the Bartibogue River. John was predeceased by his father, Frank Breen. He is survived by his mother, Louise Breen (LeBouthillier); sisters, Anne Springer (George), Mary Harris (Ken); brothers, Joe (Pat) and David all of the Miramichi, Peter (Dorothy) of Edmonton and Thomas of Yellowknife; nieces, Patti, Shannon, Karen and Joanne and nephews, Frank and Kenny. John is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on his mother's side of the family. Visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 11 am from St. Michael's Basilica, Miramichi, NB. Interment in church cemetery.
