Moncton's the place to be today
Published Saturday June 27th, 2009

Seldom has the City of Moncton seen such a busy weekend as this one, with six major events combining to draw tens of thousands of visitors and offering something for just about everyone.
The major rock show at Magnetic Hill featuring Bon Jovi and Canadian rockers Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman will be the largest of the events and significant for its economic spin-offs to the city and region. That said, the other events are significant in their own right, drawing thousands more.
The annual Atlanticade motorcycle gathering is in town and attracting its usual large crowds of thousands, both active participants and those who enjoy the displays. And the Coliseum will be packed with about 5,000 people attending a Jehovah Witnesses conference.
The city is hosting two major dance events: the Atlantic Dance Festival featuring performances and workshops, and the Dance World Cup, a competition for dancers from near and far.
Also, the Multicultural Festival being hosted by the Multicultural Association of Greater Moncton and Area will be in full swing with various events for the public to help promote understanding.
Moncton is hopping this weekend, and rain or shine, we welcome all visitors and hope all participants have a tremendous time.
