Tired of waiting for fast service

To The Editor:

I am tired of waiting. Waiting for a web page to open or e-mail to download.

I bank online because Scotia Bank closed their Albert branch. I can drive to Hillsborough in 20 minutes or wait 10 to complete my online banking.

The only advantage is I'm saving gas money.

Friends send along e-mails I can't open because I don't have the patience to wait 20 minutes to read a cute poem with music or wait until their family photos come through.

I know I would enjoy it if I could just see it.

I pay for Dial Up Accelerator; right now it says it's saving 2.23. I have on rare occasions seen it as high as six, but more often than not, I see it trying to connect. I think it should be free.

When is Hopewell Hill going to get high speed Internet?

Calls to Aliant get the response to have patience. Hopefully by the end of this year, they say.

Oops, that was last year, or maybe even the year before.

Who remembers?

People along here run businesses, they have jobs, earn a living and go to school.

Dial up is not acceptable any longer in this day and age.

I know the country life is supposed to be relaxed and a slower pace, but this is ridiculous.

I wonder how long it will take for this to send?

Marilyn Wells,

Hopewell Hill
