Three-year-old Cap-Pelé boy needs expensive surgery in order to survive from terminal cancer

A rally will be held today in Moncton in support of a three-year-old Cap-Pelé boy diagnosed with a life-threatening form of cancer.
Hugo Robichaud, has been diagnosed with the rare and fatal cancer known as neuroblastoma. The youngster's best chance at survival is an experimental procedure involving chemotherapy and surgery, which is offered only at New York City's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre and will cost an estimated $430,000 U.S.
Jason Ouellette, the family friend who organized the rally, says thus far $138,000 has been raised and he's hoping the community can come together to raise the rest so the young boy's life can be saved.
"I'm hoping to get the people that are going to be touched ... that they feel the same way I feel that money cannot buy life, there is no price for a life," he says. "If it's a half-a-million we have got to raise to save his life, it shouldn't matter, it's got to be a matter of how we can do it."
The rally will take place today at noon in front of the Assumption building on Moncton's Main Street and Hugo is expected to be in attendance.
"We have to get together and give Hugo a chance at life," Ouellette said. "He's a smiling little man and he's full of energy when he's not sick, I think he does deserve a chance."
Donations can be made at any caisse populaire branch in the province in the name of Foundation Hugo Robichaud.
Those wishing to mail in donations and letters of support should address the letters to Foundation Hugo Robichaud, 32 Chemin Arluppe, Cap-Pelé, N.B., E4N 1W1. The cheques should also be made out to Foundation Hugo Robichaud.
