John Scotland visits Water & Wine Assembly

Water & Wine Assembly of Christians will hear John Scotland of Liverpool, England today. Scotland's topic will be "The Pivotal Year" and "Hearing the Voice of the Prophets".

Scotland's early ministry included evangelistic and healing tent meetings.

In 1985 he began a 12-year term as pastor of a church in the inner city of Liverpool, where he pioneered a ministry among the poor and unemployed youth.

This will be Scotland's fifth visit to Moncton.

Water & Wine is located at 1212 Mountain Road, Moncton. The meetings will be at 7 p.m. All are welcome. A free-will offering will be received.

Youth group

Little Southwest Baptist Church holds High Impact Youth Group for Grades 7-12 every Friday at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call the church at 836-7846.

Pancake supper

A pancake, bean, potato scallop and sausage supper will be held today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the First North River Baptist Church Christian Education Center, 374 Wheaton Settlement Rd., Intervale.

Spiritual seminar

Rev. Gordon Williams, former co-host of 100 Huntley St., will be at the Congregational Christian Church, 1530 Ryan St., Moncton today from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to present a seminar on the Holy Spirit. Cost is $10 singles and $15 for couples. Worship at 11 a.m..

Music Concert

A concert featuring Old-Time Country, bluegrass and gospel music, will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at The Salisbury Lion's Club, 63 Peter Street.

The concert features Jim Smith and Family and The Poirier Family. Admission is $8 at the door.

Free light lunch and drinks will be served at intermission.

Pentecost rally

A bilingual celebration of the feast of Pentecost will be held Sunday at St. Augustine's Church hall from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Fr. Gaston Ouellet (French) and Fr. Yvon Arsenault (English) will speak on the role of the Holy Spirit in the Church and in daily life. Everyone is invited.

Orthodox Liturgy

The divine liturgy of the Orthodox Church will be served on tomorrow at 6 p.m. at 27 John Street by Fr. Stephen Allen. A shared meal will follow. This is sponsored by the Moncton Orthodox Mission of Saints Mary and Martha and by Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church of Charlottetown. All Orthodox Christians and other interested people are welcome.

Men's breakfast

All men are invited to the monthly breakfast at Don Cherry's Sports Grill Saturday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m. The guest speaker is Brian Currie.

Perennial sale

The Trinity United Church in Shediac will hold its perennial sale on June 6 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Also, there will be a white elephant table, coffee and muffins.

Benefit dinner

Moncton Right to Life is holding its eighth Focus On Life benefit dinner Monday, June 8, at the Ramada Inn, Crystal Palace, Dieppe, at 6 p.m. with special guest Alex Schadenberg, executive director of Euthanasia Prevention Coalition as special guest speaker.

Cost is $50 per plate.

First Harvey Baptist Church will hold its annual Roll Call service Sunday, June 14 at 2:30 p.m. "Cornerstone" of Truro is the gospel music guests.

A time of fellowship & refreshments will follow.

Latin Mass

The traditional Latin Mass is celebrated at the Notre-Dame de Lorette Roman Catholic Church, 1542 Champlain St., Dieppe, on the third Sunday of each month at 4 p.m. All are welcome.

Medjugorje pilgrimage

A pilgrimage to Medjugorje where our Blessed Mother has been appearing daily for 28 years is being organized for Oct. 16 to 26. Cost is $2,150 and includes a day trip to the beautiful seaside town of Dubrovnik.

A pilgrimage to Greece and Turkey, in the Footsteps of St. Paul, is planned for Oct. 29 to Nov. 8. Cost is $2,750 and includes all entrance fees to places of interest.
