Mets rained out in Nova Scotia over the weekend

Rain washed out all scheduled games between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League teams during the weekend.

Moncton Mets (2-4) were slated to visit the Kentville Wildcats and Dartmouth Moosehead Dry on Saturday.

Chatham Ironmen, who lead the New Brunswick league with a 4-1 record, were also scheduled to visit Kentville and Dartmouth.

Saint John Alpines (4-3) and Fredericton Royals (2-4) were each slated to meet Halifax, Truro and Sydney.

August 1-2 have been set as rain dates for the New Brunswick/Nova Scotia interlocking games.

League play resumes Thursday when Moncton travels to Miramichi to face Chatham. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Ironmen Field.

Mets host the Royals on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Harold Page Field in Riverview.

N.B. Junior League

All the scheduled weekend games in the New Brunswick Junior Baseball League were also rained out.

They included a contest between the Saint John Expos and the Moncton Tim Hortons Cubs in Riverview Saturday and a doubleheader between the Fredericton Royals and Chatham Ironmen in Miramichi Saturday.

Moncton, which sits in first place with a 9-3 record, hosts the New Brunswick Selects (0-4) for a doubleheader Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Harold Page. Also Wednesday, Chatham (5-3) visits Saint John (5-3) at 7:30 p.m.
