Valedictorian tells class of 2009 that greater adventures lie ahead

REXTON - Bonar Law Memorial School celebrated its 30th graduation ceremony on Saturday as 81 graduates received their diplomas, looked ahead to the future, and reflected on the past.
Valedictorian Melissa Babin highlighted the memories shared by the class of 2009, and spoke about the greater adventures that lay ahead for each of them.
Babin, who will study at St. Thomas University in the fall, received the Birks Medal for academic excellence and leadership, and also accepted the Student Government Medal.
Oliver Collins accepted the Governor General's Medal for highest academic average.
More than $27,000 in scholarships, awards, and prizes was awarded.
A former graduate of Bonar Law Memorial School, Dr. Jill Hudson, was the guest speaker. She spoke about the importance of quality work, motivation, and the support of family in achieving success in life.
Holly Jane Sock sang O Canada in English, Mi'k maq and French as an acknowledgement of the tri-cultural nature of the student body.
