In a news conference yesterday, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross announced that the Estefans are buying a small ownership stake in the NFL team.

Last month, Ross also began a partnership with Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville enterprise, which includes Land Shark Lager. Buffett has yet to accept Ross' invitation to become a minority owner, but the Dolphins' stadium has been renamed Land Shark Stadium for this season.

The estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton has been indicted on several charges in the death of a one-year-old girl she was babysitting in central Florida.

Amanda Brumfield was booked at the Orange County Jail on Wednesday. She faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child.

Court records show she told investigators the infant who died in her care in October acted normally and ate bananas after she fell from a playpen and hit her head. But detectives believe Brumfield's story is inconsistent with the girl's injuries.

It was not immediately clear whether Brumfield had an attorney. A telephone message left at the jail was not returned Thursday morning.

Thornton's publicist has said the actor hasn't spoken to Brumfield for a number of years.

Former Illinois first lady Patti Blagojevich says her time on NBC's reality show I'm a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! was a "life altering experience."

Blagojevich said yesterday that making friends on the show helped restore her faith in people.

She says the show also had some unexpected perks.

Blagojevich says she lost about 12 pounds during her 23 days in the jungle of Costa Rica.

She called her time on the show "a really welcome break" that she didn't know she needed.

Blagojevich spoke by telephone from California, where she was preparing to return to Illinois.

Blagojevich was voted off the show during Tuesday's episode. Actor Lou Diamond Phillips went on to win.
