Atlanta Braves shortstop Diory Hernandez, left, jumps into the air to avoid Boston Red Sox's Brad Penny as he turns a double play on a ball off the bat of Boston's Dustin Pedroia during the fifth inning yesterday at Turner Field in Atlanta.

It was the second win in a row for the Phillies, who lost the opener of the three-game interleague series 6-1 on Friday.

Brad Lidge pitched the ninth to pick up his 14th save of the season despite giving up a bunt single that was followed by a walk. Pinch-runner John McDonald was caught off second for the second out to help kill a potential rally before a Rogers Centre crowd of 36,379.

Lidge came off the disabled list late last week after having a sprained knee.

Phillies starter Jamie Moyer (6-6) lasted five innings and allowed four runs and five hits, including two homers by Hill and one by Jose Bautista.

Blue Jays starter Brian Tallet (5-5) couldn't hold a 4-1 lead and four of the five runs he allowed in six innings came in the fourth. One of the left-hander's runs was unearned but he gave up eight hits and six walks, three to Jayson Werth who hit two home runs in the Phillies 10-0 victory on Saturday and walked a total of four times yesterday.

Hill hit an 0-1 hanging curveball to left for his first homer and his 18th of the season. He then hit a first-pitch changeup to lead off the third for the first two-homer game of his career. Later in the inning Scott Rolen doubled to extend his career-high hitting string to 16 games.

In between Hill's homers, Jose Bautista hit his second of the season with Lyle Overbay on through a walk. The Phillies scored in the third when Ryan Howard's groundout brought home Shane Victorino from third where he was perched after a leadoff single, Werth's walk and a passed ball on Chase Utley's strikeout.

The Phillies came back with four in the fourth, two on Utley's two-out triple. Pedro Feliz led off with a single, Chris Coste walked and Tallet was too late going to first to get Eric Bruntlett who put down a sacrifice bunt and came up with a single to load the bases. Carlos Ruiz's fielder's choice grounder to third scored one run and Victorino hit a sacrifice fly. Werth singled to set up Utley's triple off wall in centre.

The Blue Jays loaded the bases against Ryan Madson in the eighth with two out on Rolen's single, Bruntlett's error on Adam Lind's potential double play grounder to shortstop and an intentional walk to Lyle Overbay.

But pinch-hitter Russ Adams hit a bloop to third to end the threat.
