Rondo hits first three-pointer of season

BOSTON - Rajon Rondo scored 12 of his season high-matching 18 points in the third quarter and the Boston Celtics rebounded from a two-game skid with a 109-95 win over the short-handed Golden State Warriors last night.

Paul Pierce, who missed a day of practice with a sore left knee, scored 19 on 7-of-12 shooting. Playing without a wrap on the knee, Pierce made a three-pointer after the Warriors ended the Celtics' 12-0 run with a pair of free throws in the third quarter. Pierce's three made it 70-57.

The Warriors had just nine players in uniform and eight played. Kelenna Azubuike, Ronny Turiaf and Andris Biedrins were sidelined with injuries. C.J. Wilson has the flu and was not with the team.

Corey Maggette led Golden State with 23 points, and Monta Ellis had 18.

Ray Allen scored 15, Kendrick Perkins 15 and Kevin Garnett 12 for Boston. Rondo added 12 assists, seven rebounds and his first three-pointer of the season in the third quarter.

At Atlanta, Joe Johnson made it two straight 30-point games, Josh Smith dominated during a decisive first-half run as the Hawks won their sixth in a row to reclaim a share of the NBA's best record.

Bucks 99 Nets 85

At Milwaukee, Andrew Bogut and Carlos Delfino each scored 21 points, Bogut also grabbed 11 rebounds, as the Bucks beat winless New Jersey.

Knicks 110 Pacers 103

At Indianapolis, Al Harrington scored 13 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter against his former team, and N.Y. beat Indiana to snap a six-game losing streak.

Magic 108 Thunder 94

At Orlando, Fla., Rashard Lewis fell one assist shy of his first triple-double, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the Magic's victory over Oklahoma City.

Grizzlies 106 Clippers 91

At Memphis, Tenn., Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph scored 21 points apiece as the Grizzlies beat the Los Angeles Clippers for its second straight victory.

76ers 86 Bobcats 84

At Philadelphia, Lou Williams' layup with 3.1 seconds remaining lifted the 76ers over Charlotte, ending a two-game losing streak.
