Acadie-Bathurst hosts Screaming Eagles tonight

BATHURST - Acadie-Bathurst Titan bent but wound up with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play here last night in front of 1,096 fans at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Bas-Caraquet native Remi Blanchard, the fourth shooter in the shootout, beat Chicoutimi goaltender Christopher Gibson for the winning goal. The first three shooters from each club failed to score.
Nicholas Champion was in goal for the Titan.
The Titan victory was only their second in nine games and improved their record to 9-14-2-1 for 21 points. The Sags fell to 11-8-1-4.
Scoring in regulation for the Titan were Derek Famulare with a pair of goals and Taylor Lambke and Eric Faille with solo efforts.
For the Sagueneens it was Dominic Jalbert, Jacob Lagace, NicolasDeschamps and Alexandre Lavoie. Lavoie's marker at 17:00 of the third sent the game into a scoreless five-minute overtime period.
Acadie-Bathurst jumped out to a 4-0 lead at 7:55 of the second period but Chicoutimi came storming back with four straight goals of their own.
Acadie-Bathurst led 3-0 after the first period and 4-1 entering the third.
The Titan outshot the Sags 35-34 in regulation while the Sags outshot the Titan 2-1 in the overtime.
Tonight the Titan will host the cape Breton Screaming Eagles at 7 p.m.
