Hockey fans, especially Sidney Crosby supporters, are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime dream of attending three National Hockey League season games from the VIP section while supporting the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
This unique offer is part of a fundraising draw by eight Atlantic Canada chapters of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where a maximum 10,000 tickets will be issued.
The grand prize includes VIP tickets for two to three NHL games: Boston at Montreal on Feb. 7, San Jose at Toronto on Feb. 8 and Calgary at Ottawa on Feb. 9 as well as air fare for two, hotel accommodations in all three cities and $1,000 in spending money. Second prize is a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey signed by Sidney Crosby.
Total value of the prizes is $8,400.
Ticket for the draw are $10 each and will be limited to Atlantic Canada. They can be obtained from CF chapter volunteers or by sending a cheque payable to the foundation to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 214 Wedgewood Ave., Riverview, NB E1B 2E2.
The draw for the prizes will be held Jan. 15.
Major sponsors of the draw are the TD Bank, Delta Hotels, Impact Communications and Xerox Canada.
Cystic fibrosis which attacks the lungs and the digestive system is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults.
Research and new treatments have made a difference. Forty years ago, children born with CF weren't expected to live long enough to start school. Today, individuals with CF are living into their late 30s and beyond, said the foundation.
