The event adds an artistic element to the fundraiser each year, broadening the scope of interest.

According to organizers, the concert helps raise $150,000 for literacy programming in New Brunswick, in partnership with the PGI. Although there are related events all over Canada, they say Moncton raises the most money.

Myles has gained fame on independent radio for his blend of jazz, gospel, pop and folk music and is currently touring with his third CD, On the Line.

Also on the bill is La Famille Arseneault, an Acadian band consisting of five families and three generations who play a boisterous brand of traditional french music. Their kitchen party style stage show is never the same twice, and consists of step dancing, singing, and almost 20 different instruments.

The Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada will also be presenting a new choreographed piece at the concert.

The concert will take place Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Capitol Theatre. Tickets are on sale for $25 for adults and $15 for students.
