FREDERICTON - There were no injuries in a fire that broke out in a University of New Brunswick student residence Tuesday night.

The blaze in McLeod House was located in a small kitchenette area on the fourth floor.

Officials say the sprinkler system triggered and most of the fire was out by the time crews arrived.

There's water damage from the fourth floor down to the first.

Students were evacuated to nearby Magee House for a few hours.

Some have been displaced, but officials hope to have them back in their regular rooms by the weekend.
