V-ball Highlanders defeat Olympiens
The Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders blanked the l'Odyssée Olympiens 2-0 in an Eastern Conference senior boys high school volleyball match last night.
Scores were 25-21, 25-12.
Eric O'Connor recorded five ace serves and three kills and Geoff Gerhardt added three digs, two kills and an atom bomb for the Highlanders. Matt Arsenault had four kills and an ace serve for the Olympiens.
In other matches last night, the Harrison Trimble Trojans blanked the Moncton High Purple Knights 2-0 (25-12, 25-15) and the Mathieu-Martin Matadors downed the Clement-Cormier Cavaliers 2-0 (25-13, 25-21).
Hockey coaching clinic offered
Hockey New Brunswick will offer the developmental 1 Hockey Canada coaching clinic Saturday and Sunday.
The clinic will be held at the New Brunswick Community College in Dieppe.

Soccer league holds meeting
The Codiac Senior Soccer League will hold a meeting on Sunday at the CEPS building on the Université de Moncton campus.
The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Room 250.
All teams from last season are asked to attend as well as any new teams interested in playing this summer.

Moncton wrestlers head to nationals
SASKATOON -- Two members of Moncton's Mountain Top Wrestling Club are headed to the Canadian cadet/juvenile wrestling championships here this week.
Zach Lewis (juvenile men 58 kilograms) and Jamie MacFarlane (juvenile men 63 kg) will compete in the freestyle championships tomorrow and Saturday and in the Greco-Roman event on Sunday.
MacFarlane will also participate in the national team cadet trials during the weekend.
Four wrestlers from the Bathurst area -- Katrina Cormier (cadet women 52 kg), Philippe Ouellet (cadet men 63 kg), Jean-Francois Godin (juvenile men 50 kg) and Emile Guitard (juvenile women 49 kg) -- will also compete at the national championships.
Riverview baseball schedules registration
Riverview Minor Baseball will hold registration for all age groups on April 19.
Registration will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lions Centre in Riverview.
Soccer team holds tryout
The First Touch under-14 boys elite soccer team will hold its first tryout on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lewisville Middle School.
The tryout will move to the Dundee SportsDome next Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by the final session on April 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
All players interested in playing premier and division 1 soccer are asked to attend. Cost of the tryout is $25.

Under-16 boys open tryouts
The Codiac First Touch under-16 boys AAA soccer tryouts will begin Friday.
The tryouts are slated for the Dundee SportsDome from 6-8 p.m.
The following Monday the session will be held at Lewisville Middle School between 6-7:30 p.m.
