Dominique Landry, 15, left, and Olivia Capson, 11, work on their floor program.

Dominique Landry and Chelsea Wilson of Moncton and Olivia Capson of Riverview will participate in the event, which will also feature athletes from Miramichi, Fredericton and Saint John as well as Ontario, Quebec and the other three Atlantic provinces.

Landry, 15, who attended last year's Eastern Canadian championships in Saint John, will compete in the open level 5 division. Wilson and Capson, both 11, are in the tyro level 4 division.

Beausejour competitive head coach Tanya McMahon is accompanying the girls to the championships.

Today's routine will see Landry, Wilson and Capson take part in the vault, bars, beam and floor events.

The trio qualified for the Eastern Canadians from their performances at the New Brunswick championships in Fredericton last month.

"Dominique was the only member of our club to go to Eastern Canadians last year, so it's really nice to see it triple this year. It's great for our new kids coming in to see that we have actually a team going to the championships, not just an individual," said Beausejour recreational head coach David LeBlanc.

"These three girls are the most advanced of all our girls and they're all involved in coaching. They are good mentors and good motivation for our new kids starting out in gymnastics."

The Eastern Canadian championships mark the end of the competitive season for Beausejour athletes. The club is currently accepting registrations for its recreational season, which begins June 23. Camps will be held throughout the summer months.
