History society to offer summer tours

WINNIPEG - Canada's National History Society, publisher of The Beaver magazine, is partnering with two Winnipeg-based travel companies to offer historical tours this summer.

Three trips in August will explore destinations in northern Ontario and Manitoba.

Author Ken McGoogan will host a two-day tour of northern Manitoba with stops including Norway House, Churchill, Gillam and York Factory, and charter flight service out of Winnipeg. McGoogan will also host an extended tour that adds three nights at Winnipeg's Hotel Fort Garry. Activities include a look at Hudson's Bay Co. materials at the Manitoba Archives and Manitoba Museum.
