VANCOUVER - The Feast of Fields annual harvest festival in B.C. is "a gourmet wandering picnic," organizers say.

"With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand, you can taste the very best of B.C. from chefs, vintners, brewers, farmers and food artisans from across the province."

The festival will be staged at three locations on three different days: at Rebagliati Park in Whistler on Aug. 30; Vancouver's UBC Farm on Sept. 7; and Victorian Epicure Vineyard in North Saanich on Sept. 21.

Adult tickets range from $75 to $85.

B.C.'s Feast of Fields is the annual fundraising event of the non-profit group FarmFolk/CityFolk which works towards a local, sustainable food system.

The Feast of Fields concept was created by Michael Stadtlander who partnered with fellow Ontario chef Jamie Kennedy "to create an event that aimed to get sophisticated urbanites out to the farm," says FarmFolk/CityFolk.

This year Stadtlander will be a keynote speaker at a Feast of Fields event at the Everdale Organic Farm in Hillsburgh, 45 minutes northwest of Toronto, on Sept. 7.
