MOAB, Utah - If climbing, hiking, river-rafting, mountain-biking and the scenery in Arches National Park aren't enough to draw you to Moab, here's another reason to visit: three weekends of music.
The Moab Music Festival's 16th season takes place Aug. 28-Sept. 13. Concerts will be held indoors and outdoors.
The first weekend will include chamber music and a tango concert on the grounds of the Red Cliffs Lodge along the Colorado River, and a free Rocky Mountain Power Family Picnic concert in Old City Park, featuring early 20th-century pop songs, piano rags and more.
Performances the second weekend range from classical music to opera to ragtime. For the final weekend, audiences can cruise to a wilderness grotto by jet boat to hear Beethoven and Ravel; hike to a violin-and-cello concert on a trail; and hear fiddling, flutes and pipes at the Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa.
