Halloween is my favourite holiday

Boo!
Did I scare you?
Yeah, I didn't think so.
Well, it's finally Halloween and it's time to dress up like a lunatic and go trick-or-treating for candy.
Halloween is definitely my favourite holiday of all time. Not only is it our only excuse to put on a weird clown outfit or splatter our faces with our weird green face paint, but we also get candy!
Yes I know, I've heard it a million times: Aren't I too old to be trick-or-treating?
The answer is no, I'm definitely not too old! I mean, I know I'm in Grade 9 now, high school, but I don't think you can ever be too old to go door-to-door looking for some candy.
I've noticed the majority of high schoolers have stopped trick or treating, and instead they go to parties at a friend's house or stay in and pass out the candy to the little kids, but that is definitely not for me. Who in their right minds would pass up the opportunity to get free candy?
I only have two problems with Halloween.
First, everyone trying to scare other people, but not very well. I mean, what is the point of throwing a mask on and yelling 'Boo!'? It never actually scares anyone. Sure, you may have a few screams here and there, but where have the really scary things gone?
When I was little, I remember this one house in my neighbourhood that decorated their house incredibly. They had fake cobwebs, everyone dressed up and they all scared everyone who wanted candy. I remember skipping that house every year because I was so afraid. Why does it seem there are not as many of these scary decorated houses anymore? Have we all just become lazy? Or does no one have Halloween spirit anymore?
My second problem with Halloween is the costumes. Why is it all of a sudden crucial to have a 'sexy' costume?
I don't know if anyone's been in the new Halloween costume store. I have and, let me tell you, it is definitely not kid-friendly in there. Nearly every costume has been tailored to be 'sexy.' All of the dresses are little mini skirts and all the shoes have six inch heels on them and sparkle on the side.
Personally, I think they should put a sign in the window that says 'adults only' or there should at least be an age restriction. When I went, there were at least four or five kids under the age of 10 running around the store while their parents chose their costumes. Not only is there a problem with seeing the costumes surrounding them, but they were also seeing the costumes their parents would be wearing and those costumes most likely weren't appropriate.
Like I said, Halloween is my favourite time of year. I can't wait to dress up like my favourite Twilight character, (really, what did you expect me to be?) and go trick- or-treating with my friends.
