Honda dropped the Accord wagon from production some time ago--but it's on its way back. Sort of.

The upcoming Honda Accord Crosstour seeks to do what the Accord Wagon once did -- and then some. The latest addition to the Japanese automaker's lineup, this high-utility Accord variant builds on a proven history of quality and safety with a whole new level of versatility.

"Our concept is to broaden the appeal of the Accord line-up by leveraging traditional Accord strengths of fun-to-drive performance and handling, while also adapting to shifts in the Canadian light truck marketplace," said Jerry Chenkin, executive VP of Honda Canada Inc. "The all-new Accord Crosstour achieves this by offering a modern interpretation of a Crossover Utility Vehicle, while integrating the refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan."

If you're the car buying member of an active family that doesn't slow down when the weather turns bad, the Accord Crosstour is probably for you. Compared to the sedan, it offers expanded cargo capacity, unique styling, the convenience of a hatchback body and even an available All Wheel Drive (AWD) system.

Don't miss the Crosstour-specific fascias in front and rear, or the more rugged stance and posture. The Crosstour takes the Accord into Crossover SUV territory, which also means enhanced driving confidence and a commanding view of the road ahead.

An array of thoughtful features will maximize interior space utilization, and abundant storage compartments and space-maximizing cabin packaging are all promised. Honda says the five-passenger interior will also boast an innovative rear storage area, too.

Chenkin adds "Honda has a longstanding reputation for maximizing interior space and utility in its vehicles. Like the award-winning Honda Fit, the Honda Crosstour uses a versatile design to provide an interior that functions with the practicality of a larger vehicle."

The Accord Crosstour is expected on dealer lots this fall with standard V6 power and available AWD.
